Since the completion of the human genome project, sequencing technology has evolved from labor-intensive and time-consuming capillary-based sequencing to massively parallel next generation sequencing (NGS), which leads to a decreased cost per megabase and an increase in the number and diversity of sequenced genomes.

Human platelet lysate (HPL) is a multifactorial supplement obtained from human platelets, which contains abundant growth factors and cytokines necessary for cell growth and proliferation. In a wide range of applications, HPL is considered a good substitute for animal serum. The replacement of fetal bovine serum (FBS) with HPL can reduce the immunogenicity and remove the transmission of zoonotic diseases, which is beneficial to the clinical application of cell proliferation or production.

Genomic mapping plays a key role in the diagnosis and grading of brain tumors, and sequencing then allows researchers to trace brain tumors back to individual gene changes to better provide new clues for treatment and research.
